AITA Rules & Regulations for Seniors Tournaments – 2022


 

  • The following Regulations apply to all AITA Senior tournaments.
  • Age Groups – 35+,40+, 45+,50+,55+,60+,65+ age groups are permitted in an AITA/ITF Seniors tournament to be conducted in India.
  • In any event, minimum of two age group and maximum of five age group in an AITA/ITF Seniors tournament will be allowed to be conducted. Special permission from AITA has to be taken to conduct an event with more than five age groups.
  • It is left up to the organizers to have a women’s tournament along with the Men’s event. The Women’s tournament can go ahead if there are eight or more players. If not, the organizers are requested to organize a mixed doubles event, as an exhibition match, if they could organize it.
  • To be eligible to participate in any age category, a player shall have reached the minimum age limit by 31 December of the year in which the competition is held. A player may play in more than one age category and therefore may appear in more than one age category ranking. Accordingly, a player shall, if requested, present his passport or national identity card to the referee prior to the start of the competition.
  • A player may play in more than one Age Group but, maximum of 02 events.
  • The above would carry AITA ranking points. An organization may organize events other than above age group but no ranking points will be awarded.
  • The Managing committee would decide about selection of team but cost of travelling & expenses have to be borne by players themselves.
  • The ITF ranking points would be converted in the AITA points as multiple of (2). However, ITF ranking points received in other age groups will not be added.
  • It was ruled that States should allot these tournament to institutions, Clubs, Schools, College with tennis facilities, and not to any individual. The National tournaments can be conducted by the state after allotment by AITA.

 

 

The AITA shall process results from all the tournaments on the Circuit and shall issue rankings, on a quarterly basis.


 

The official published rankings will be calculated on a 52-week rollover system and published on a quarterly basis.


 

Allocation of Points - Ranking points will be awarded as set out in the points table below:

ITF ranking points will do be added in the AITA national ranking.

Best of four AITA tournaments will be counted for ranking purpose.

AITA Registration:


 

The registration fees will be ₹4000/+ 18% GST and validity will be for two calendar years. In addition to this, Seniors can also register for one calendar year by paying ₹2000 + 18% GST. It is mandatory to have AITA registration to play in AITA tournaments. Valid AITA registration is a must to take part in ITF Seniors which are taking place in India. Tournament referee will be responsible to check the AITA card at the time of sign in, and no player will be allowed to participate without valid

 

 

AITA registration.


 

Entry Fees in AITA/ ITF Tour:

Entry fees for AITA tournaments will be Rs 500/- for each age group. Entry fees for ITF Tournaments will be as per ITF norms.

Entry Fees in ITF Seniors tournaments taking place in India with be capped according to the Grade of the event. This will be as follows:

 

 

1) ITF S100 – INR 2,500

2) ITF S200 – INR 3,000

3) ITF S400 and above – INR 4,000

The above is excluding the $6 IPIN Fees of ITF.

 

 

A White Badge Referee will be nominated by AITA for tournaments having prize money above 2 Lacs. A White Badge referee will be nominated for all ITF tournaments.

 

 

1) The sign in for a tournament will be on the Sunday before the start of the tournament. If the number of players in an age group is more than 32 then there will be a qualifying. The size of Main Draw will be 32 (20 Direct entries, 8 Qualifiers and 4 Wild cards). The Qualifying draw will be open. The Draw size for doubles will be 16 (12 Direct Entries, 2 Qualifiers and two Wild cards).

 

 

2) The qualifying will be completed before the start of the main draw. The qualifying will be best of 17 games.


 

3) All Main Draw Singles should be best of three tie break sets. All Main Draw Doubles should be best of three sets with the third set a super tie break set. Receiver to choose the serve.


 

Selection of Indian Tennis Team for World Team Championships 

Indian Team will be selected to take part in the following World Team Championships:

# ITF Young Seniors: +35, +40, +45 Age Group.

# ITF Seniors: +50, +55, +60 Age Group.

The entry of the participation of Indian team will be send by the AITA upon getting the notification
